Construction of Sewage treatment Plants:
Municipal waste water and sewage can be treated by techniques such as biological and mechanical treatment. One of the major established technologies is the Activated Sludge System which consists of several stages such as grit chamber, primary settler, biological reaction tanks for nitrification and de-nitrification an secondary clarifier. The treated effluent can be further processed through sand filter, carbon filter and disinfection systems such as a UV chamber before disposal.
Optimization of STPs:
One of the main challenges of waste water treatment is efficient operations and maintenance. It is important to achieve benchmarks in operations such as aeration quantity, effluent quality, sludge removal, effective settling of the biomass in secondary clarifier, energy consumption, etc. Optimizing the STPs to achieve higher efficiencies will lead to reduced operational expenses and better performance of the plants.
