Sewage sludge generated during the wastewater treatment process is mostly organic in nature, however it needs to be stabilized and composted before using it as a fertilizer. Sewage sludge greenhouse helps in controlled conversion and bio-stabilization of sludge and since the climate inside the sludge greenhouse is controlled, external weather conditions don’t affect the process of drying significantly. This process also eliminates bad odor during the decomposition of sludge and the output will have a good texture, porosity and pre-determined moisture content suitable for application on land as a fertilizer or can be dried to over 85% DS which can be used in an incineration plant.
